I’m a wife and mom, first and foremost. I have three beautiful kids, ages 20, 18 and 16. Sometimes I feel like one of the kids instead of the parent, and I like it that way.
I have been known to crawl through small openings, climb trees and hang from them, and do some odd things while golfing.
I work full time for a student loan company and in my free time, I love to be outdoors. I take my camera everywhere, and you’ll often see evidence of that here on the blog.
I started writing in December 2006 as means to simply blow off steam and quickly developed an addiction to blogging. I absolutely love the sense of community I’ve found through this little hobby and have developed some incredible friendships.

I don’t buy that a woman who looks like you has an 18 year old child.

You look waaaaay too young to be a grandma soon. Of course, the pic could be dated, but I ain’t one to call out a beautiful woman’s sincerity with my first comment.

“I started writing in December 2006 as means to simply blow off steam and quickly developed an addiction to blogging.” — Terri
It usually starts that way!
Like you, I enjoy it for the tremendous sense of community that it builds. For me, it’s about empowering others while reflecting on myself. I enjoy reading…a lot! And I naturally like to share my thoughts with others so it just kinda seems right, ya know?
Anyway, have a great weekend!

Hi Terri,
I put this in your “about me” hope that is OK, you can delete it if you want.
Of course I knew your surgery was coming up , but while it was going on I found it really hard to visit your blog I don’t know why….is that strange or what?
I made myself look in the day after and was relieved to read your daughter’s post that you were both doing OK.
I didn’t come back again till today.
I read your story it was very touching and yes, you are brave. That’s what bravery is, doing something even when you are scared.
You are an example to us all!

I see myself heading in your direction as far as blogging goes. I’m a mother of four, all under thirteen, and it’s been nice to read the many blogs about family, kids, motherhood. You have a great writing style, too…and quite the inspiration. Yes, I’m hooked and starting to feel that “sense of community” !

My oldest son is 14 and just headed off to his freshman year of hs. The hardest parting I had was his first day of elementary school, where for the first time, I felt there was no one there to watch over him as he had in the past.
Someday he’ll leave and I’ll cry, just like my mom told me my hardened military dad did when I left home at 18…she said he just went up into my empty room and cried like she’d never seen him cry before…she never told me that story until years later.
I miss my dad as he passed away last year from a sudden stroke. I miss him at the weirdest times…We had so many good times together…
I’m from Louisville Ky, and several years ago we hosted the Senior PGA championship and it was the last time Jack would play in a major…it was Friday, and he was not going to make the cut. My dad, an old club pro could see this and we staked our claim on the 18th green almost 2 hours before Jack Nicklaus would finish…He WAS my dads golf hero…hands down! As Jack approached the green, my dad and I stood with the throngs of other golfing afficianados and cheered like crazy for him…I looked at my dad, and we both got all choked up. I hugged him and said “love you pops” It was a moment I’ll cherish forever… I digress.sorry, I’m not doing much right now, but getting myself all choked up…lol
I guess as parents we never know when the last time we’ll see our kids is going to be, so the parting is so sad sometimes…
But I tell myself that’s life and he needs to move on…it’s tough for sure…I DO hope it gets better for you, but if it doesn’t ….there are worse things in the world, right?
peace

halo sorry but :I like reading The Rambling of an Average Teen, cdnt get in tho, n she didnt leave an email ID, so wd u pl pass this on to her if you have her email? She seems intrstd on National anthems n thought she mght like to know this, EBlogger sucks unless u enable the name URL otpion, so many I like but cant talk to bec of this OID or forcing u to open wth EB thing?
Also she has the wrong URL for ur blog, when I clicked ur name there it didnt work. But the kid probably isn’t aware n so cant reach u. unusual request? well, Sagi thing I guess, had to try atleast once
“well the Indian anthem was actually written to welcome the Queen of England when we were a colony. Taken out of that context, now, the song describes the boundaries and geog of this country and ends with a prayer for the well being of the people(at that time, it was unto the Queen, now it means God):| funny eh?”

Hi Teri,
I do believe in your philosophy, take life as it comes… I was going through your blog and nothing more impressive then those small everyday happening which you portray in words…. Great Expressions…Keep up good work…

What attracted me to your page was your quote “Never take life too seriously, no one gets out alive anyway” – and went onto read posts and see your pictures…very beautiful indeed!

Hi TERRI,
Thanks a million for providing ur valuable comment. I being a technical writer was once told by my manager that I should change my profession becoz I cannot write and will never be able to write well. She had no hope for me.
Things improved since then.
Thanks for instilling confidence in me once again.
I love your blog and the way you feed details through those tiny little words. They surpass memory lane and make us remember events that were similar to the one you have inscribed.

Phenomenal blog and spirit with which it is created Terri. I see the rss, but would like posts sent directly to my inbox, if possible. Check out feedburner, which has an option to send to the inbox.
Also do you tweet. I think you would make a model twitterer, but can’t find you on twitter. I assume you are so you might consider a link to twitter from your blog.
Nicely done Terri – blog on. John

Hi,
I was curious what it would take to get a text link on your blog saying something like “Tungsten Wedding Bands” or “Tungsten Wedding Rings” with a hyperlink to our site (www.tungstenringsonline.com). We are a relatively new company and we are currently trying to improve our page ranking on Google. We operate on a small budget, and we would be more than willing to give you a tungsten ring from our site in exchange for a link. Let me know if this would be something that you would be interested in. Thanks for any help you can give us.
Thank You
Nick
